Before islam, the Arabs were famous for trade, and when islam came, it set priciples for trade to be a blessed trade and its money is halal. Today we will talk about trade in islam.
Let`s start with God`s blessing (in the name of god, the compassionate, the merciful) and do not forget to pray to the presence of the messenger, peace be upon him-let`s go.
1-honesty and trust:
islam urges us to be honest and trustworthy in life ingeneral and in trade in particular, The Messenger, may god bless him and grant him peace, used to work as a merchant, and he was known as the Truthful and Trustworthy because of his honesty in trade, And stories say that the reason for non-Arabs to enter islam in the old days is the honesty and trustworthiness of Arab muslim merchants in their dealings with people.
It has been proven that the prophet, may God bless him and grabt him peace, said:
البيعان بالخيار ما لم يتفرقا، فإن صدقا وبينا بورك لهما فى بيعهما، وإن كذبا وكتما مُحقت بركة بيعهمما)
(The two bids are by option, so long as they do not separate, and if they speak the truth, it is blessed for them to sell them, and if they lie and concealm the blessing of their sale will be annihilated)
God said in the Holy Qur`an:
(قال الله هذا يوم ينفع الصادقين صدقهم لهم جنات تجرى من تحتها الأنهار خالدين فيها أبداً رضى الله عنهم ورضوا عنه ذلك الفوز العظيم) المائدة 119
(Allah will say: 'This is the Day the truthful shall benefit by their truthfulness. They shall live for ever in Gardens underneath which rivers flow. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. That is the great winning.) The Table 119.
2- No monopoly:
Islam has definitely forbidden monopoly in trade, because of what it causes in forcing people to buy the products of merchants at exorbitant prices, We may see such types of business that he stores his goods for a while, then there comes a time when the prices of these goods boil and end in the market, and people are forced to buy these goods from him at the price he wants.
God said in the Holy Qur’an:
(ومن يرد فيه بإلحاد بظلم نذقه من عذاب أليم) الحج 25
(along with whoever intends to deviate by doing wrong in it, We will cause them to taste a painful punishment) Pilgrimage 25
3- Not to cheat or defraud:
4- Performing the prayer on time:
5- Satisfaction with the share:
One of the common problems that occur nowadays is that the merchant gets distracted by his work and forgets to perform the prayer, thinking that this is how he wastes time, Then he comes at the end of the day and the prayers pile up on him and he regrets it, and it is better for him if he calls for prayer he has to close his shop and go to perform the prayer so that God may bless him in his trade.
God said in Holy Qur`an:
(إن الصلاة كانت على المسلمين كتاباً موقوتاً) النساء 103
(Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times) el nisah 103.
At the end of this article, I hope that you have benefited fully. I hope you are well in a new article, God willing, and may God’s peace, mercy and blessings be upon you.
